Job description

As a family weaving mill, we work side by side and take real pride in every metre of fabric that leaves our looms. As a weaver with us, you’ll create high-end upholstery and curtain fabrics in (mixed) linen (flax) and polypropylene (for our outdoor collection) for high-end clients all over the world. You’ll be working with dobby and jacquard techniques.

You’ll work in an alternating two-shift system: from Monday to Thursday an early shift from 5h to 13h. and a late shift from 13h to 21h on Friday an early shift from 5h to 11h. and a late shift from 11h to 17h.

What your day looks like

Your main goal is quality: fabric that comes off the loom as first choice. To get there, you’ll:

Keep a close eye on the weaving process and spot weft and warp breaks early;
Repair those breaks neatly — the weaver’s knot will quickly become second nature (and we’ll gladly teach you if it isn’t yet);
Top up the bobbin racks in good time, so the looms keep running smoothly;
Regularly check the fabric as it’s being woven and catch any weaving errors;
Cut off finished jacquard pieces and bring them to the inspection machine by trolley;
Cut off finished dobby pieces and bring them to the storage area for woven rolls;
Order and cleanliness during weaving
Do a short briefing/handover with the weaver on the next shift, so they can pick up right where you left off.

Profile

You already have some experience as a weaver.
You can express yourself in Dutch.
