The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental membership organization and the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards. ISO 9001 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and involvement of top management, a process approach and continual improvement.
